A Message from Our Leaders
May 4, 2022
After 2 years of Covid restrictions, Pope Francis spoke to the people in St. Peter's Square. He spoke of abuse of the elderly and asked parents to foster in their children an honor for the elderly that will transform how they view life and its stages.
Love Thy Neighbor
Sept. 16, 2021
In an effort to curtail the spread of the Covid virus, The Catholic Health Association focused on “Love Thy Neighbor” as a theme to implement routines that promote wearing a mask, washing your hands, social distancing, and getting vaccinated.
“Love Thy Neighbor” has been adopted by many organizations and collectively these have made significant progress in helping to control Covid. The mandate has a spiritual origin (Matthew 22:39; Mark 12:31) and reminds us that any steps we take are not taken for ourselves but for those around us in our local community, our facilities, schools, and churches, our whole world.
In our ministry to the aged and infirm, “Love Thy Neighbor” touches upon our residents and their families, our employees, vendors, contractors, volunteers, Board members, and anyone we have contact with. In short, “Love Thy Neighbor” is not about ourselves but about others. It is about the societal duty we share with every citizen of the world and it is our personal responsibility to take the necessary steps to control the Covid virus. We know what we ought to do!
